Type A Guatemalan Jadeite Jade gemstone earrings and pendant necklace in 14k gold fill.
I made these earrings and pendant with natural, untreated, genuine Type A Jadeite from Guatemala and black Spinel gemstones. The Jadeite quality is very good - it has a strong green colour and is translucent (the light goes through the crystal structure).
Jade value depends on the crystal structure. Lower price is for beads with the 'imperfect' structure (examples shown in the photos). Higher price is for beads with more uniform structure under the light. The photo of the strand shows how this Jade looks in bright daylight outside.

• Type A Jadeite from Guatemala each bead is at least 3 carats and measures just under 8mm in diameter
• Black Spinel ~ 4mm
• Earrings drop from ear fitting ~ 6cm | slightly under 2 1/2"
• Pendant drop ~5 cm; ~ 2"

• 14k Gold Filled ear fittings and components
14k Gold Fill ('14k gold-filled' or ' 14k rolled gold') means that at least 5% or 1/20 of the overall metal content by weight is gold of 14k quality. The layer of gold is bonded onto a base metal (today it is invariably brass). Gold Fill is thicker and much more durable than gold plating (which usually has under 0.05% gold content). Ear fittings have a quality stamp "1/20 14k".
